• Develop and implement the organization's functional safety strategy.
• Define safety goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Create and maintain a comprehensive safety plan for projects and products.

1. Team Leadership:

• Build and lead a team of functional safety engineers and specialists.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to team members.
• Foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability within the organization.

1. Safety Standards and Compliance:

• Stay up-to-date with relevant functional safety standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508).
• Ensure that the organization complies with these standards in all safety-related activities.
• Follow V-model approach based on ASPICE framework to comply with quality standards.

1. Risk Management:

• Oversee the identification and analysis of safety risks and hazards.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure their integration into project plans.
• Review and approve risk assessments, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
• Evaluation of 3rd party components (HW & SW).

1. Safety Documentation:

• Ensure the creation and maintenance of safety-related documentation, including safety cases, safety manuals, and safety assessments.
• Review and approve safety documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Allocation of safety requirements to design elements of system architecture

1. Safety Reviews and Audits:

• Plan and conduct safety reviews and audits to assess the effectiveness of safety processes and measures.
• Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory agencies as necessary.

1. Safety Testing and Validation:

• Oversee safety testing and validation activities to verify that safety requirements are met.
• Review and approve test plans, procedures, and results.

1. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, development, and quality assurance, to integrate safety measures into the development process.
• Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to ensure safety compliance.

1. Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for improving safety processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Implement best practices and lessons learned to enhance functional safety practices.

1. Reporting and Communication:

• Provide regular updates on safety progress to executive leadership and relevant stakeholders.
• Report safety incidents, non-compliance issues, and safety performance metrics.

• ISO26262 certification is a must.
• At least 3 years of commercial experience in Automotive Functional Safety domain.
• Deep understanding of ISO26262 development lifecycle.
• Evidence of fulfilling Functional Safety standard & procedures during regular activites and routines at project level.
• Functional Safety Engineer certificate.
• Understanding of V-model approach and ASPICE framework.

• Bachelor's Degree.
